#Guitar rig presets 80s windows 10#
Windows 10 (always up to date), 4770k intel cpu, 16 gigs of ram, Studio One 5.4, Reason 12.2.1 (mostly as reason rack for S1) AT 5.03, Many T-Racks. Pink Taco, varidiode both stock with the pedal set to between 12 and 1. As I said, those are also the things that make it sound a litte cheesy when listened to within the context of 2020. Re: Official AmpliTube 5 GEAR (and presets) Wishlist. The things that make it 80s are the drum sequencers and machines used, the drum programming, the synths used, even the horns arrangements to some extent. The list of instrumentation used on that record is IMO indicative of what the "80s pop sound" was at the time. Its not indicative of Winwoods top achievements in record releases (I still think Arc of the Diver was never displaced both songwriting wise, production wise, or performance wise). The construction process was incredibly detailed 3411 chords, recorded in multiple velocities, up to 11 articulations, different playing positions and pickup settings, resulting in up to 152 samples per chord. There are loads of '80s songs that are easy to point to for their leaning hard on the cliches that came to define the decade, but at least to my ears, this isn't one of them.Higher Life is a pop record indicative of its time and that belongs to be left to be listened to within the context on the times it was created and released it. Over a year in the making, SCARBEE FUNK GUITARIST is a breakthrough in guitar sampling. Production-wise (and it's hard to separate the production from the performance, since the opening percussion and the use of guest stars were choices by the producer, from what I've read), I think this is one of the landmarks of '80s pop-rock and still sounds awesome. "Higher Love" is an excellent song with great performances from Winwood and special guests Chaka Khan and Nile Rodgers. A lot of the ostensibly synth oriented pop had a surprising amount of guitars and other "real" instruments. Some more things: Singers who could actually sing without autotune (as opposed to much of today's music), (micro) dynamics (not nearly as much "let's compress everything completely flat" as later), no sidechain compression, many people trying to achieve a polished and high fidelity sound, reverb and then some more reverb (gate that snare reverb), chorused guitars. Eric Broadbent is the founder of the Line 6-themed YouTube talk-show, The Helix Hour, which is part of the Music Gear Network. And that's just barely scratching the surface.

What would you say defined the 80s sonically? A bell sound from a sampler? A preset from particular synth? A particular snare sound or sampler? Would be cool to get a bit in detail on what sounds, legendary instruments and devices that shaped the 80sThere were many things but some extremely obvious ones are DX7 E.PIANO1 & BASS 1 presets (absolutely everywhere), Fairlight SARARR synth vox (Art Of Noise - Moments In Love, Tears For Fears - Shout) & ORCH 2/5 orchestra hit (Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart), Emulator 2 Marcato & Arco strings (from Pet Shop Boys' West End Girls to INXS' Never Tear Us Apart).
